Janelle Monae – Tightrope

Janelle Monáe appeared on Letterman this week and gave one of the best performances I have ever seen on the show. The band were sensational and theatrical. There were many influences, James Brown being the most obvious, but it really reminded me of Prince at his best.

If this is anything to go by, this girl is going to be huge.

Here, judge for yourself and listen to the audience at the end to see what they thought, that’s no polite applause. If this fails to move you, you must be dead.
